OPPO Launches ‘Premium Economy’ A38 Smartphone

Smartphone Boasts 33W Flash Charging, 5000mAh Battery & Ultra Smooth Performance

OPPO today announced the launch of its latest A series smartphone - the OPPO A38 - redefining the entry level experience and providing Aussie consumers with a little luxury for less.

The OPPO A38 features innovations typically reserved for more expensive models, including; 33W SUPERVOOC_TM flash charging, a 50MP AI Camera, and a 5000mAh large battery. It’s powered by MediaTek Helio G85 resulting in a seamlessly smooth performance and long-lasting battery life.

It also boasts a stunning 90Hz Sunlight Display, and an Ultra Volume Mode, perfectly combined to deliver exceptional user experience for everyday use and immersive entertainment.

The OPPO A38 stays true to OPPO's iconic design aesthetic and captivates with its vibrant colours and exquisite textures. The OPPO A38 comes in two stylish colours, Glowing Gold and Glowing Black. Both feature OPPO’s exclusive OPPO Glow design technique, which gives the back cover of the phone a subtle shimmering appearance, creating a fingerprints-resistant, dual matte finish with glittery details.

The lineup also inherits the same iconic Ultra-Slim Retro Design as previous models in the OPPO A series. With 2D Premium Design, the device is comfortable to hold and has a sleek and lightweight appearance, measuring only about 8.16mm in thickness and weighing only about 190g. In addition, the OPPO A38 features a Side Fingerprint Unlock, allowing for swift and seamless unlocking even when the device is held with one hand.

Reading or viewing on-screen content in bright light is often a challenge, but the OPPO A38 introduces a brand-new 90Hz Sunlight Display that can reach up to 720 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode. This allows users to effortlessly view on-screen content, even in direct sunlight.

Additionally, the OPPO A38 features a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering vibrant and immersive colours and smooth visuals. The OPPO A38 also comes with All-Day AI Eye Comfort, which minimises eye strain, making viewing comfortable regardless of screen time.

The OPPO A38 is equipped with a 50MP AI Camera and a 2MP bokeh camera, allowing users to capture clear, natural, and bright images. With pixel binning support, four pixels are combined to form one larger pixel, preserving more details, even in low light. The two cameras also work in tandem with OPPO's advanced portrait algorithm to provide impressive bokeh light spots in the background and highlight the subject in Portrait Mode. With the 5MP front camera, the OPPO A38 delivers stunning selfies and enhanced video call quality.

Powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 platform, the OPPO A38 delivers smooth and efficient performance. With OPPO's proprietary Dynamic Computing Engine, the long-lasting smooth performance of the OPPO A38 has been verified through 36-Month Fluency Protection tests conducted in the OPPO lab, recording an average ageing rate of less than 10%, ensuring longevity.

The OPPO A38 comes with a 4GB RAM+128GB ROM configuration, and RAM Expansion technology, allowing it to convert free ROM space into up to 4GB of RAM to keep the phone running smoothly during heavy-load scenarios.

The OPPO A38 introduces the Ultra Volume Mode, a software feature that helps amplify the speaker volume by 300%. This ensures easy phone calls and watching short videos, even in bustling or noisy environments.

Lightning-Fast Charging and Extended Battery Life

Addressing users' concerns around battery life and capacity, the OPPO A38 boasts a large 5000mAh battery which can be charged to 100% in about 75 minutes using the 33W SUPERVOOC_TM flash charger. A quick 15-minute charge can power up to 5 hours of YouTube video viewing and 8 hours of voice calls.

OPPO has also introduced a series of exclusive technologies designed to enhance charging safety and battery reliability. All-day Charging Protection utilises AI to learn users' charging habits and intelligently schedule charging, ensuring safety and efficiency during overnight or extended charging periods. Furthermore, All-Day AI Power Saving provides support for 25 hours all-time standby even at a low battery level of 5%.

Designed with durability in mind, the OPPO A38 has an IP5X dust-resistant rating, as well as an IPX4 water-resistant rating, offering protection against water splashes or humid environments.
