OPPO named best-rated mobile phone brand in the Finder Retail Awards

When it comes to the mobile phone market, the competition is hot. But amongst them all is OPPO that has just been crowned as the best mobile phone brand in the Finder Retail Awards.

But what are the Finder Retail Awards?

The Finder Retail Awards recognise the best brands in Australia from customer feedback on different retail product categories. In other words, real Aussies let us know what brands are worth their hard-earned dollars.

Finder worked with leading data, insights and consulting company Dynata to conduct thousands of customer interviews around their product purchasing history and satisfaction with their purchased products.

This year, Finder polled almost 20,000 Australians for the awards to find out the best-rated brands.

Best-rated mobile phone brand

For those of us keeping a keen eye on the sector, it's not surprising that OPPO has taken out the top spot. The brand has been creating high quality mobile phones that challenge the likes of Samsung and Apple for years.

The company has also shown industry-leading innovation when it comes to mobile camera design. Not only are they high quality, but oftentimes, way more interesting than the competition. Our personal favourite was the shark-fin pop up selfie cam on the OPPO Reno. There’s never been a more fun phone to test.

Between that and OPPO’s commitment to fun colourways, the company dares to be different in a sea of standard black and white mobile devices. And customers have noticed, rating OPPO phones a 4.5/5 for design.

But it’s not all about the shiny exterior and build quality. Over the last few years OPPO has gotten a reputation for having some of the best camera phones in market.

Its latest flagship, the OPPO Find X5 Pro, was developed in partnership with legendary camera brand Hasselblad. This has allowed customers to enjoy a mammoth camera setup that includes a 50 megapixel (MP) primary lens, as well as 50MP ultra-wide and 13MP telephoto lenses. Not to mention 4K Ultra Night Video.

And customers agree that it's great. Australians polled rated OPPO’s camera quality at 4.2/5. And our own testing at Finder backs this up. In our review of the Find X5 Pro, we found that it did a brilliant job in all ordinary shooting situations, and performed particularly well with portrait and low light photography. This one one of the many reasons the Oppo Find X5 Pro earned a place in our list of best phones for 2022.

But customers were impressed with more than just the cameras. They also gave OPPO phones a 4.5/5 for battery life - one of the most important factors that go into the decision making when it comes to phone purchases.

Another is of course, price. And this is increasingly important in a market where the cost of flagships are going up. But OPPO customers have been impressed, rating its phones 4.6/5 for value for money. And this tracks, with OPPO offering a suite of phones across multiple price points in order to cater for an array of customer budgets.
