OPPO Continues Its Collaboration with the Tourism Promotion Authority for the Imagine IF Competition Following Major Success for the Second Consecutive Year

In a step that reflects the fruitful collaboration between the private sector and national institutions, OPPO, the globally leading smart device brand, has announced that its global "imagine IF" competition has received sponsorship from the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion for the second consecutive year in its initial phase. This sponsorship acknowledges the competition's creative vision in promoting Egypt's archaeological sites by showcasing the country's unique heritage through modern and innovative methods. Preparations for the competition will commence this February.

This sponsorship aligns with the Authority's efforts to support creative initiatives that highlight Egypt's rich heritage using cutting-edge technology, in line with global trends in digital tourism promotion. It also aims to strengthen connections with new generations of travelers and explorers.

In this context, Mr. Amr El Kady, Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, emphasized the importance of supporting such initiatives, stating:
"The 'imagine IF' competition is an excellent model of public-private sector collaboration in promoting Egyptian tourism through innovative methods. The competition utilizes creative photography and artificial intelligence to showcase Egypt's diverse heritage in unique ways. We believe initiatives like this contribute to showcasing Egypt's beauty and history to a global audience, further solidifying its position as a distinctive tourist destination."

The collaboration between OPPO Egypt and the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion aligns with the government's strategy to leverage advanced technology across various sectors, with tourism being a key pillar of Egypt's economy.

The "imagine IF" competition is one of OPPO's most prominent global initiatives, encouraging photography enthusiasts across Egypt to capture the beauty of historical landmarks, modern architectural projects, and the connection between Egyptian civilization and various artistic and craft fields. This contributes to promoting Egypt's tourist attractions using OPPO's industry-leading smartphone photography technology.

To participate in the competition, entrants must capture photos using an OPPO smartphone and submit them in one of the following formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC, or HEIF. The submission must have a minimum width of 1000 pixels, with each image size ranging between 1MB and 20MB.

Photo editing using software such as Photoshop or Lightroom is not permitted. Only moderate post-processing adjustments—such as brightness, contrast, white balance, and saturation—are allowed. Composite images that alter the original content will not be accepted. Egyptian photographers interested in participating can submit their entries online through their social media pages using the hashtags #OPPOEgyptimagineIF and #ExperienceEgypt, following the official competition launch in April 2025.

Notably, in 2023, the OPPO "imagine IF" competition received over 700,000 submissions from OPPO users across 51 countries and regions worldwide, reflecting the high level of engagement and diverse artistic perspectives.

In 2024, the OPPO "imagine IF" Awards successfully attracted over 1,500 submissions from OPPO users in Egypt alone.
