Celebrating Connie’s Heartwarming Mother’s Day Connection

Dear OPPO Fans – We wish you all a loving, caring Mother’s Day! To commemorate this day, we collaborated with our friend Karin de Blank to bring her mother, Connie, a special gift! Connie is a brilliant woman, teacher, and mother. As a remedial teacher, she made it her life’s mission to help guide children who struggle with learning in the traditional school system.

Get to Know Connie
Connie de Blank is a remedial teacher in the Netherlands who is committed to helping others – including kids who are not her biological children. She set up a program for kids who could not find their way in the traditional school system, and for the past 20 years has guided them and fought for them tooth and nail so that they could become the best versions of themselves.

“Sometimes they have problems with school, with learning. I try to find them their power and their potential – to learn, to be successful.”

Connie has always been an advocate for those who feel lost or abandoned by others around them. Many of the children Connie cares for were once like her family and had formed an incredibly tight bond. Both Connie’s daughter, Karin, and OPPO wanted to find a meaningful way to show how much the children she has cared for appreciate her.

“So, for this Mother’s Day, I got in touch with a couple of old students of my mum’s – to have them record a Mother’s Day message so we can surprise her later.”

Karin contacted many of the past students, who had once been so close with Connie, and asked them to leave a video message for her. Connie was later greeted with Karin’s flowers and a remarkably heart-warming video on her new OPPO Find X2 Pro.

“I’m always so happy if after a few years I meet a child again that I can talk to and see how his or her life is going at the moment.”

Connie’s students were inspired to follow their passions thanks to her and are doing well. We should all be grateful for the mothers and mother figures in our lives!
