The Latest on the OPPO Find N2 Flip

Global leading smart device brand OPPO recently announced the rollout of a major software update for its flagship foldable phone, the Find N2 Flip, which further enhances functionality of its cover display. The Find N2 Flip will also be one of the first devices to receive the Android 14 Beta update following the success of OPPO’s ColorOS 13 at the 2023 iF Design Awards.

The new Spotify Widget, jointly developed by OPPO and Spotify exclusively for the Find N2 Flip, maximises the utility of the largest cover screen of any flip phone. Users can enjoy full play control, the Heart button and content recommendations without unfolding their device.

A custom-built Speech-to-Text quick reply feature has also dropped and is accessible through the cover screen when users receive a message. All apps that enable quick reply will support Speech-to-Text, including WhatsApp, Messenger, Messages by Google, Telegram and LINE.

This is the first significant update for the Find N2 Flip since its New Zealand launch in March 2023. It signals OPPO’s four-year commitment to major device improvements, which will roll out worldwide from mid-April. Speech-to-Text will automatically update, while users can manually add the Spotify widget through the screen widgets settings under “Pocket Player.”

OPPO Find N2 Flip Will Be One of the First Devices to Receive the Android 14 Beta 1 Update

OPPO have also announced that the Find N2 Flip will be one of the first smartphones in the world to receive the new Google Android 14 Beta 1 update. Developers and early-adopters can get their hands on the developer’s version of ColorOS built around the first beta of Android 14, experimenting with new features and APIs on their OPPO flip phone.

Android 14 includes several updates to enhance productivity, performance, privacy, security, and user customisation. It offers more intuitive system user interfaces, such as the new mid-display back arrow and an improved system share sheet. To strengthen users’ privacy, the system allows apps to limit visibility of specified views only to accessibility services.

Foldable devices provide an opportunity for innovative app development. Developers are encouraged to use Android APIs, tools, and resources provided by Google to build apps designed for large and small screens.

Android 14 Beta 1 update will be available for OPPO Find N2 Flip and developers can download the developer’s version of ColorOS built around Android 14 Beta 1 right now. Later this year, Find N2 Flip global users can look forward to enjoying the public version of ColorOS based on Android 14.
