The Latest of OPPO Innovation and Patent Ownership

As of June 30, 2022, OPPO has filed over 80,000 patent applications and has more than 40,000 granted patents globally. Among these, 72,000 were utility patents, accounting for 90% of all OPPO patent applications. According to World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), OPPO ranks among the top 6 PCT filers in 2021.

OPPO has filed patents in more than 40 countries and regions. In 2021, OPPO ranks 3rd among global patent assignees in terms of the number of granted Chinese utility patents, ranks 13th globally or 2nd among Chinese companies for Europe patent applications, and ranks among the top 50 US patent assignees.

5G: OPPO has deployed its 5G standard essential patents in over 30 countries and regions around the world. By the end of June 2022, OPPO has filed over 4,800 families of global patent applications, declared over 2,000 families of 5G standard patents to the ETSI, and submitted more than 5,000 5G standard-related proposals to 3GPP. According to the report issued in June of 2022 by a leading German research institute — IPlytics, OPPO ranks 8th for the number of declared 5G patent families.

Video: A total of about 360 families / 1,300+ patent applications have been filed in 23 countries or regions, ranking around 30th in the world.

AI: OPPO has filed over 2,700 patent applications mainly in the field of AI, computer vision, speech technology, and machine learning.

Imaging: OPPO has applied for about 10,599 image patents worldwide and owns about 4,542 granted patents.

Flash charge: OPPO has applied for around 3,500 patents worldwide, owns around 1,800 granted patents, and has licensed the flash charge technology to more than 40 companies. In 2021, OPPO launched its new project—The Flash Initiative which was born from OPPO’s commitment to make consumers’ lives as easy as possible.
